Title: Willie Wasyle by Robert Burns.
Post by: ooyah/2 on October 16, 2010, 11:44:48 am
Hi Guys,
Just to let you know that Wullie was known to Burns, so much so that he put pen to paper,
although he wasn't too complimentary about the wife, no offence Wullie.

Here is the link with a translation for our English friends and others.

If Wullie is known to any Scottish poet I am sure it wasn't Robbie Burns - more likely William McGonagle (for the non Scots out there reputedly the worst poet
who ever drew breath in Scotland)

Is there no end to Wullies fame,  Wee Willie Winkie was written by a William, not Wullie, and has been used for the past 200 years to get bairns to sleep at night.
Wullie you will soon be as famous as Fat Boab & Soapy Souter but be careful  P.C. Murdoch might catch you.
