We used to have a firm on our local industrial estate that made hot air balloons - the ones with the basket underneath to carry people :-)) as they use the stuff to make the canopy.

Not sure if they are still there, it's ages since I visited them.

I could always get large offcuts, these fancy new balloon shapes produce lots of offcuts, certainly large enough for model boats sails anyway :-)
