Going by 3rd and 4th pic's he also takes very good care of his leg hair...though I have heard at a certain age your shins go bald anyway, perhaps that's it.

Perhaps I should stop looking at a dolls legs {:-{

Hullo Bernhard....... :D

1. I see a lower boiler water discharge fitting  which could be used for the boiler pilot pressure for a gas regulator  O0
2. but why the two boiler top 90 degree steam discharge valves?  :embarrassed:

Boy, Mike HAS been busy!  I received my 3" boiler and gas tank yesterday - I'll post a pic when I can get one taken.

Derekwarner_decoy - "I see a lower boiler water discharge fitting  which could be used for the boiler pilot pressure for a gas regulator"  The only fitting I can see like that is actually meant to be feed water inlet to the boiler.  There's also a blow-down on the sight glass, but nothing on the lower part of the boiler that could be fed to a regulator.  Or am I looking in the wrong place?  :D
Title: Re: New Launch
Post by: derekwarner on March 22, 2011, 07:44:06 pm
Aeronut4 ....in image 201.jpg we see

@ 9.00 o'clock a steam isolation valve
@ 6.00 o'clock a steam isolation valve
@ 3.00 o'clock a steam relief valve

The fitting I assumed was suitable for the pilot pressure for the gas regulator is directly below the 6.00 o'clock position but just up from the boiler base.... :o ....however you are also correct  :-)) in that it could be used as a make up water inlet.......Derek

Oh Bernhard, that looks super! Is that the 'ebay engine'?

Derek - the fitting to which you refer is a feedwater clack valve, so you couldn't use it 'as is' to feed the gas regulator, unless you removed the ball.

It's the subtle details that make your models stand out Bernhard. How many years of paint are on the hull structure? On the last photo, the build up in the corners aren't unintentional "Sploshing".

:-)) I have purchased rope from Miskins before for my schooner model. Excellent quality!

I was asking about the brass cleat/bollard that is in the center of the bow & stern. It is of a style I am looking for to use on my torpedo stern launch.
I was wondering if you had found those from a supplier or made them.
Thanks!
