As some might have been following my build of a Clyde class lifeboat similar to the one that Gribeaval has been building on this section on another forum I had to make a "D" class lifeboat to go onto the front end of the 71" boat.
As it was quite a process I had to make tooling for it to vac form the "Rib" and I also had to buy a quantity of plastics to form it.
This quantity in fact gave me 12 sets of mouldings that was kindly vac formed at my local College as I intend to do a charity sail with the large lifeboat this coming summer ( more details later).
As I only needed one Rib, I have offered the sets of moulds for sale at £20. including postage, AND WHICH ALSO INCLUDES A £7.00 donation to the RNLI, which covers my material costs.
The vac forms come in three parts...top and bottom of rib and the rib floor.....(please disregard the small white coloured mould as this didn't turn out to fit well and so has been disgarded), plus paper templates for the transome, the inner floor and the spray sheet.
With the sale of the 5 that I have sold I have well and truely covered costs of materials and the postage for the items, and I have 6 or 7 sets of mouldings left, which i would like to sell in aid of the RNLI( after costs of postage of these have been met.
The pics show the rib with detailing put on, but they come plain vac forms.....you add the detailing. If anyone would like one then please contact me for details, and as there are only 6 , possibly 7 left it's first come first served.
I hope that the mods don't mind me putting it in the lifeboats section instead of items for sale, but I thought it relevant to lifeboates more than general modellers.
