Hi Guys - can anyone help?
I'm after information on the 13.5-inch guns fitted to "Royal Sovereign" class pre-dreadnoughts. I believe they were featured in the "Warship" magazine series "British Naval Guns 1880-1945" by N J M Campbell. I think the article was early in the series, possibly in Issue 18?
I would be very grateful if anyone could confirm the issue number, and positively ecstatic if some kind soul would be good enough to scan the article for me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Rick I can't help you with the magazine article but the following web page gives details of the guns plus a couple of
photographs - it also lists at the bottom of the page a list of the books which give details of the guns.

Hi Rick,
Navweapons give an acknowledgement at the bottom of the page suggesting that it's the second article in Vol 5 (1981). You've probably tried that but........ ;)

Right, I think I've got the right gun now :embarrassed:!
I assume you'r talking about the 13.5 67 ton BL.
One of these was fitted on a disappearing mount at Penlee Point in Plymouth which leads to www.cyber-heritage.co.uk which is a positively humungous site for military/naval history pics. They cover everything but you could well find photos of the installation as well as stuff from the Armstrong/Elswick factories. It's well worth a few hours.

Thanks guys, but photos are not what I need. A drawing to enable the barrel to be turned is what I'm after, plus details of the mount(s) - barbette in the Royal Sovs, turret in Hood.

Any Good?

Thanks Tony. If you have that drawing in a higher definition, could you email it?
