Title: Newbie looking to start an all wordd kit in Oz.....
Post by: JCaustralia on January 27, 2011, 01:04:23 pm
Hi guys

I'm a bit of a newbie in scale boat but not new to the rc boating.

I live in Sydney Australia and have a number of Fast Electrics boats, 1 gas boat and one sail boat.

Wanting to start an all wood boat kit (no plastic) and have been looking on Ebay and Cornwall Model Boat in the UK for a first kit. I'm on a budget of about $200 for the boat only (excluding motor and electronic).

So far I am considering an Aero Naut wooden cruiser or a New Maquette Trawler on sold by Cornwall Model. I am also interested in the Midwest Boothbay Lobster boat, but with shipping its a bit above my budget..... <:(

Is there any shops in Australia that sell wooden kits for that kind of money?

Attached are some pics of the boat I own. I built all of them except the Aquacraft SV27.

Cheers

JC
