Title: silicone tubing
Post by: tobyker on February 11, 2011, 10:44:15 pm
I need some silicone tubing to provide a close fit on to some 10mm copper tube. I thought the ic people used sizes like this for joining manifolds to tunes pipes but the only source I've found so far is 10 metres of 9.5mm id for £58. Any ideas?

RS do a good range of silicone tubing  - but it comes in large hanks, like the type you found

If you have a branch of SBA near you this is the kind of thing they do, possibly in smaller quantities

Its also sold, as you say to join engines to pipes - might be worth contacting some of the IC engine specialists - possibly Steve webb or Just engines or andyN

Thanks Richard - I'll give them a call when I get back - hope they'll take an order for a couple of metres!
(I go to Paisley models every now and then but not seen any in bigger than fuel tube sizes)

there is no descroiption of the amount on offer, but it looks promising

Toby go to an automotive supply store or even a dealership parts counter, they use it for windscreen washers. they should have it no problem & if you find a nice partsman he will probably let you have what you need free,  Mick B.
