Title: Spares Required
Post by: Mr Andy on February 15, 2011, 09:49:13 pm
I've just been given a model of torpedo boat PT-109, however it is in need of part's, like the last owner I know nothing of the boat in relation to age or maker, as you'll see it's a lovely thing, so anyone know of a sourse of spares I'd be very gratefull.

Andy. :-)

It looks like the Dumas PT 109.

I think Dumas will sell spares.
Try the Dumas site, it is a US company.

I thought they might have been, as all prices for the new model are quoted in $'s, thank you, I'll chase that up when I can spend a few £'s and get some brushless motors at the same time, where would be the cheapest to get them, and what size would I need to keep her looking within scale speed.

Thank's,

Andy.  ok2

For brushless motors and speed controllers try:

But 2 x 550's would have her going rather well.

Hi Guy's  This model looks very much like the Lindberg  P T 109. Is the hull all plastic? If it is the Lindberg model I am sure this no longer made and if I recollect it was  a very strange scale also. Most of the deck fittings on this model are very similar to Lindberg 109 model.

You will have to check the length to determine what the scale is.

Scale was 1/32 and almost sure the model is now out of production. If Spares are available and the exchange rate being so low it would be better to buy the Italeri P T Boat a far better kit with up to date moulding technology. I understand Italeri have taken this kit out of prodution also. The scale of the Dumas  P T 109 is 1/30

Well despite the web page for Lindburg Models still being up and running and quite recently updated, I have not had a reply to the E Mail I sent them, regarding spare parts. So for now, the boat will have to gather dust.

I might get some brushless motors for her, in time, and just tidy her up for occasional use, I don't need a lot for her, so maybe parts can be made.

Recieved an E Mail earlier telling me parts for the PT boat are still available, in white plastic.
