Highway Code, rule 244.
You MUST NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement in London, and should not do so elsewhere unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs.
:police:
So why not enforce the rules and charge people for parking on kerbs like the nuisances they are?

Be an intersting one to try to inforce ,
if I got booked I would soon have a lot of photos of quite a few Police cars doing the same thing, probably the police car from the policeman booking me.. :}

Had words about cars obstructing the footpath and was informed by the local constabulary (Inspector no less) that as they (the Police) didn't get a cut out of the fines, they had no juristiction to get involved and had pushed the responsibility back onto the local council.
Regards Ian.

I got fined £2 in Aberdeen, for having 2 wheels on the pavement,whilst parked in a very narrow street,..this was in 1979,

Hi.
what a total farce that is, the road in my street is so narrow that the cars on both sides of the street have to have two wheels on
the pavement so there is enough width of road for one vehicle to get along the street. You could `nt enforce that one here.
cheers Frank

The police will only get involved if it is a moving traffic offence and the police officer has to be in uniform
Car parked two wheels on the pavement in front of my drive
After two days the car was deemed to be stolen and removed
