Hello All
I have just aquired one of the above. On speaking to Stuart Models they tell me these were not recommended and are no longer being made although they do make the Gas Control valve.
Has any one had aany experience with these good or bad.
Many thanks

Ive recently brought a model boat with an abc Chedder plant.A gentleman near me has offered to copy for
me all the instructions including fault finding. The water level sensor can be affected by steam bubbles in
the sight water level tube. You can send me a Pm if you wish to chat . John.

they where originaly used with the bigger Cheddar plants, when they first came out the main boiler used was the Proteus boiler but that caused problems as it had a large ceramic burner that would heat up the sensor and stop it working properly that moved the sight glass to the other end of the boiler and that seemed to cure the problem, also some people put extensions on the sight glass to move it away from the heat,
the gas part works great and you can use just that side of it but I would preserve with it and you will find that they are OK I have the original instructions for one if you need then.
they are much sort after now and sell very well.

I have 1 that I bought new, but never got round to building the boat for it until 2 years ago.Once installed found it was faulty, the water sensing side of the unit don't work. All the other parts function fine &it seems a good unit.
As john said, there were some problems with bubbles in the sight glass confusing the sensor, but its possible to overcome this.
I remember seeing Cheddars display plant steaming away all day at a show, so once set up its a great piece of kit.
