To Martin & any Moderators. I must apologise for not putting p.graphs. up, but I ask your consideration after reading the below. If you might be displeased, I apologise, and you will of course delete this forthwith.
Back in 1991 to 1993, I had a hobby. This hobby was looking for gold in North Wales rivers, and I was quite good at it! - it was one of the best therapies one could possibly find... until last year when certain numbers of totally irresponsible people descended and did so much damage that all has been banned with signs from police and other authorities threatening death and destruction - so, an end to that little bit of occasional peace and quiet. So, if someone might like something unique for wife/partner/lady, to incorp. into a pendant or something, please IM - ONLY. Only three pieces I have in mind. I know we are supposed to p.graph., but I don't have the eqpt. to p.graph something properly that is a quarter the size of your little finger nail and weighs three or so grams! (bearing in mind 31.1g is one Troy oz.).
You see, there is an RC ship that I don't need but really really want! I have decided that, if I must have it I can only do it (sensibly), if I sell something. So, that's it.

umm i tried to sell my trains on here once ( so i could buy a boat!) .. didn't get to far i doubt admin will allow this to fly. but good luck in trying!

Thankyou. I wasn't quite sure whether to put the idea on Chit Chat or Sales, or indeed, whether I should put it up at all... but I knew a Moderator would put me straight, hence what I said at the beginning.
Again, it was just an idea (an ex-hobby helping another). If someone might want great, if not, well, at least I tried!

How much is this ship anyhow? Hang on to your gold for a while longer because it's gonna be worth even more than its sentimental value soon. Instead, let me know how much you need to buy your ship. Just don't accuse me of being a bum-boy or any that malarkey. Instead, just consider it a helping-out loan or such. Pay back as and when - no pressures, no rush.

Very nice of you, but, as I said, it is not something that I need, it is want! So, I have made a firm decision that if it will be it will be, if not, well it's not, and it will only happen if I sell something to cover it, and that's that! Welsh gold certainly fetches a good premium, and particularly specimen river nuggets. Unfortunately I don't have that much, don't particularly want to sell any of it, and the chance of getting any more is Zero these days due to the blanket ban - thanks to the people who did much damage early last year. I see comments on the net that no damage has really been caused, and that this is just a knee-jerk by the conservation authorities, who are now backing off from their original claims. I wonder what the true situation is?

Unfortunately it is true, and I would be one of the first to jump up and down if it wasn't.
When I was up there I came to know the local Environment Officer quite well. He used to call by from time to time, but just say hello after he came to know how I operated. He had set one or two guidelines (perfectly acceptable and right), when I first met him, and I never missused his trust after that, so we all got on well. However, when people start very seriously digging into banksides and making a real mess and damaging trees, and doing their work during low water and thoroughly clouding water for a great distance, people notice. I believe complaints went in over quite a period, so the authorities got fed up. Unfortunately the gentleman who was the Enviro. Off. is not about as before (he gone anyway), so, you end up with 'someone' who, instead of making serious warnings (if you don't stop we will come fall on you like a ton of bricks), a total ban was applied - but serious warnings would I am sure have worked when these 'teams' of people were seen. What annoys me most, is that I, who respect the rivers (and there are a quite a few others), get penalised as a result. The last time I was there was during the Summer of 09 (not been back since), with a friend who had come over from the States... nice lovely quiet day playing amongst the water, no heavy digging, just looking at cracks in the rock and sucking them out with a hand gravel pump (I invented my own 'non-return' type, and it is marvelous for cleaning out leaves and rubbish from down pipe receivers!).
So, at the end of the day, unfortunately I must agree with the principal, but not necessarily the final decision to do what the authorities did. I think they might consider day licenses in the end, and I can live with that.

My words weren't quite right... but you got my drift anyway! I am amongst the first to jump up and down because it is true!
Maybe eventually a day or week license could be introduced. Suggestions are being made to the authorities, but time is needed for the dust to settle before such a thing could/can be implemented. Don't 'chance it', the signs really do mean what they say they mean. Sure you won't, but say all the same in case anyone else thinks otherwise. What a World we live in these days eh... we get clobbered in all directions one way and another. Oh well.............
