Title: Steam cleaners for steam
Post by: john s 2 on July 03, 2011, 09:56:46 pm
Wanting to test run my steam engine ( Chedder Gemini) without using the boiler and wanting to use steam
not air. I borrowed my neighbours steam cleaner. Which is hand held, about the size of a kettle. Using the
pointed nozzle, which was one of several which came with it. I was able using flexy tube pushed on to connect
to the engine. More than adequate steam was available to test run. Checking before doing this it appears that
most steamers run at 3 bar max. No doubt because they fall under model steam boilers and dont need any
retesting.Using these steam vessels seems to me to be a cheap way to get steam. There are usually some at
most Boot fairs. Of course they have safety valves. But caution is still advised. John.
