Title: New Project to trick the oldman :)
Post by: mook on July 13, 2011, 12:48:45 pm
Hello so basically dad sat me down Monday night and said I'm not to buy any more boats until I finish the ones I have started well I have found a loop hole around this.
As a 14 year old I don't earn a great deal but I do a paper round and work Saturday and Sunday at my local paintball site :) so what ever I earn I spend on my boats as the old and wise one has stopped me from buying any more boats as stated, well I have rest week off school at the moment as I had a opp on my arm last week, I decided to go in town with my grandfather when I come up with the idea and brought it I have brought a decoy duck to convert to rc :) brought all the rest of the items well I was in town from my local hobby shop a 300 motor m2 114mm prop shaft rudder speed control soooooooooo I'm just nervously waiting to see what he says when he gets home from work technically it's not a boat it's a duck don't no if I am going to get away with this or not lol has anyone else done this

Oh Yes,  :-)) How do you think most of the forum members get there Boats/ or not into the house..

One of my projects ,(Forum name gives me away really) is to build a DSV , based on a MMI Mag a few years back, I was told I could not buy any more boats, like you untill I start to complete them , so I bought a load of soil pipe assessories as per the plan .. :} 8)

DSV may not be the correct name but I have it as Deep Sea Vessel or DSRV  or Deep Sea Research Vessel.

i was thinking about one of these. where i go boating theres a double decker bus apparently in the bottom of it. i reckon if i could get one of those cheepy ebay fpv kits and run a long cable instead of a rc kit i could have a look.

L.B.  what you are using to make your DSV you look as though you will be "plumbing the depths"
Sorry couldn't resist that one.

So Bad.. :}

Like so many of my projects it has taken a back seat to all the other projects and Ideas which have also taken a back seat..
I actually got it to a stage where some lights were working and the unit was sealed, however after showing it to someone else the project development went up a level to try and incorporate a self launcing vessel with its own crawler tracks, and knowing the person who's idea that was if and when we take it further it should be pretty cool..That was version 1 but I held back from going any further with it.. However I would like to get it going again as per my original design so may start it up again.

The original post is here on the warship Forum.  but I will try to find the pictures of it when i tested it in the Submersiable test tank  (the Bath)
