Title: water cooling question...
Post by: Patrick Henry on August 09, 2011, 03:52:54 pm
Where's the best place to install the watercooling inlet pipe, chaps? (ignore the rudders, they are only temporary and will be replaced later by a pair of brass rudders)

So I'll need two inlets, will I? Is that one complete system for each motor?

So...do I install two inlets and watercool each motor separately, or do I install one inlet and watercool both motors from the one inlet pipe?

As it doesn't look like a racing boat, ie. the motors run hot.

You'll probably get away with one larger water pick up.
Just make sure that the outlet stream is clearly visible from the bank.
I've Used to set mine up so it spurted upwards from the transom - like those water jet bikes!

No, not a racing boat Martin, just a cruiser type boat with two 550's in it. I'm too old for racing now!  :((

Thanks for the reply,

You won't need water-cooling with the 555 motors and 3-blade scale props you're going to use.
