Please help.
If when planking a model boat hull nails or pins are used, then how are the holes hidden when the nails/pins are removed?
I am building model that is planked in Mahogany with no holes shown.
Do I just wet the finished hull to expand the timber ?

Maybe use a quick grab glue like Deluxe materials Super Phatic or similar and use tape to keep the plank in place while it sets. No holes then.

Very hard to hide holes.
One possible answer is to mix the mahogany saw dust with glue to fill the hole, but you will never get a perfect color match.
Gluing without pins is the way to go, as Colin suggests.

Seem to have solved the problem.
Pinned an offcut of the planking mahogany using 0.8mm pins and the Amati pin pusher half a dozen times, then, removed the pins
and wet the planks, hey presto, wood swelled and completely removed the pin holes.
Joy.
