Title: Elco Thunderbolt Data Required
Post by: tjfromdevon on August 21, 2011, 05:40:27 pm
I'm building the Italeri 1/35 Elco kit but have decided to build it as a RON 29 variant. Research so far has shows that they served in the MED, were painted in Measures 16 which is A variant of the Thayer blue scheme, however I want to build one of the four boats that had the Thunderbolt multi gun system in place of the bofors at the back (Or stern!), however I'm struggling to find any dimensional data, there are a couple of original plans on one of the PT boats sites, but I cant' read the dimensional data - I have also found photo's on line an I have the excellent Coastal Forces Vol 2 by Al Ross and John Lambert, but I could still do with some more info - can anyone help please?

Hi

Have you seen this drawing? No dimensions but knowing the length of gun you could soon work out a scale.....

Thanks for the response - I have the photo already, but the drawing was a new one on me - I'll see if I can get it printed out at work as we have a decent size printer there. Thanks once again -it will make scratchbuilding so much easier
Cheers
