Title: Graupner Schottel Drives Mark 2
Post by: destroyer42 on August 27, 2011, 10:23:27 am
Hi Fellow members,
I read somewhere that the Graupner mark 2 schottel drives need to be strengthend on the arm that has the motor shaft connection.
Does any member have a picture diagram on how this is achieved, I have thought of a piece of timber that fits round the arm and drive shaft and then epoxy to the hull bottom. Does any one have an easy solution or should I clamp each side with metal supports?

I built up around mine with car body filler.
sorry but the drives are in a part of the boat which is not easily got at (part of the reason for the extra support)
I did however fit a small tube to the oil hole so that I could lube the shaft and bearings from time to time
