I thought id take the plunge and have a go at plank on frame hulls. I havent got any wood at the minute so i decided to have a practice go with card board. Not by any means is it up to the build quality or standard as most of the models on this site and neither are my skills compared to mastercraftsmen that build them. I managed to get this done last night after kids had gone to bed and i was up till 1:30am. I didnt have any plans but i just thought id show you all see what you thought.

The planking is as gappy as a wicker basket so i covered the outside in tissue and dope. I want to build a fishing vessel but i cant find plans that make a simple small model that incorperates this technique.
When i get some wood and a have proper go i will probably asking everyone oppinion on what type of fishing boat/trawler i should turn it into. :-))

It looks terrific Mike, keep up the good work, I will be watching. I have the Fairmount Alpine to do when I get around to it. It has some plank & frame in its construction & I have never done it so it should be a voyage of discovery. Mick B.
