Title: German manufacturer of modern merchant vessels
Post by: billw on September 17, 2011, 03:34:54 pm
Hi all,
Not sure if anyone can help on this one??
I came across a website a while ago for a German? company that did some fantastic hulls/ kits for various modern merchant ships. When my computer crashed, I lost the link.
Does it ring any bells with anyone??
Kind regards,
Bill.

Hi Bill,

possibly you meant the site of Steinhagen Modelltechnik (http://www.steinhagen-modelltechnik.de/), an engineer from Kiel who some 25 years ago started a business on its own out of his hobby.
Though I never have ordered one myself I have read several times that his GRP hulls are acclaimed for high quality and are single hand-crafted pieces manufactured on order only.

When loaded into the browser his site's starting page currently states that due to a bereavement they temporarily are only partially reachable.

Regards
Ralph
