RIP DAN WHELDON. A  great man and a tragic way to go.

If it's true (as reported) that he was offered a $5m bonus for starting at the rear of the field and passing all the other cars, this suggests irresponsibility on the part of the organisers - Indy racing is enough of an accident waiting to happen withourt that sort of encouragement.  How terrible for his wife and children.RIP

Apparently all the drivers were given the offer and only Dan accepted.

Such a tragic loss, of someone so young,our thoughts go out to your family :baloo & pooh bear
