I can confirm our open day will take place on Sunday 8th July 2012 at Wilton Park, Bradford Road, Batley WF17 8JH. Set up time for visiting clubs will be from 8 a.m. and the event will be open to the public at 10 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m. We hope to have 6 to 8 marine traders at the event. Details of these to follow in May. Free parking all day. Refreshments available during the event. There is always a large display of models with something for everyone. This year we will be having a competition for the best model tug. This will include all types of model tugs. We are asking visiting clubs to bring along as many different types of the Springer tug. It doesn't matter if it is modified or unmodified. So let's see what you can come up with for these. It doesn't matter if you are a novice or a skilled builder you will be made most welcome and I am sure you will be able to get any questions you may have answered.
We are hoping to have the Help the Heroes team at this event. They display very large model warships and if you were at CADMA last year you will have seen them there.

Just a week away now. Hoping the weather is kind to us again. I hope to see lots of springer tugs next weekend along with all types of other models. Trade support will be from Deans Marine, Mobile Marine, Scale Hobbies, Scale Flags, Mountfleet Models, Worner Marine, Modelboat Bits and Leeds Large Scale Models. This list is correct at time of this post but may change on the day. If your are attending I would suggest you arrive early to obtain a parking place. A small trolley will be available to transport large models. Check with the ladies in the tea tent and they will put a call out for me. Watch out for the speed camera on approach to park entrance 30 mph tops.

HI fellow members. I have to inform you that the Kirklees Model Boat Club Open day on Sunday 8July is now cancelled due to the adverse weather over the area today. I understand the lake is very high and the grassed area is very wet and slippy. I hope to incoperate the Open day with our Navy day on the 9 September more information to follow. Many thanks to you all for support over the years but we can not fix the weather. :(( :(( :(( :(( :(( :(( :((

I feel so sorry for all those who have spent so much time organising things , just for them to have them cancelled because of the adverse weather we are all suffering..........you can't do anything about that..........
Unfortunately, you cannot also plan against idiots like Wyre borough Council, who slap a notice on the club house at Fleetwood saying that as and from the same day that they are having their annual Scale regatta...Wyre Borough are going to start charging car parking fees on those people who park their cars next to the boat house............JUST BRILLIANT, YOU IMBECILES ( WYRE BOROUGH COUNCILLORS I MEAN!!!!!!)

ho no was looking forward to open day
still comming down to sail

High fellow members. First of all if you travelled to our water today hoping to find this event running then I can only apologise but we had to cancel the event due to very wet and slippy grassed areas on the advice of our local park ranger. All is not lost. We now intend to incoperate our open day with the navy day. This event will take place on Sunday 9 September at Wilton Park Lake. The invitation for as many springer tugs to be on show still applies and a trophy will be given for the best tug and warship on display. I intend to contact clubs directly in the coming weeks, so let us hope that the weather in September will be kind to us.
