Hi, have any members come across one of these model boats by any chance?
Would like to know what size motor to use.
36" long all wooden /planked construction.
For some reason I am unable to upload a photo? Pity.
Will not allow?
Thanks

Super tigre G21 back in 1958 or a 2 1/2 cc Diesel.
Regards Ian.

Hello Ian,
I'm thinking only electric as ic's not particularly welcome at most ponds that I know.
What about a Graupner 600 or 700 ?
Pete.

Hi Peter,
As you know I like the Graupner 600 motors and a 7.2 would probably handle it well but I'm also rather fond of the Darke Horse 700 with water cooling in my Wavemaster which is quite a heavy high displacement boat, it has a good voltage range and is a strong puller. On a 7.2v stick it's good for 20 mins and as you crank the voltage up the performance increases - top end at 21,000rpm!! It's very versatile.

Hello Roger!
Ok Darke Horse it is! I will try it then (eventually). I'm not sure that the boat is intended to be a fast mover like the patrol boats
rather a stately cruiser speed?
The Darke Horse is pretty high rpm then -very similar (higher even) than the 600 7.2v graupner at that number.
I couldn't post picture of my boat as the file size was way too large at 2.1Mb - did you resize your pic?
Looked a complicated procedure to me.

upload your photo to photobucket then copy and past the img link in your post :-))

Hi Peter,
If you run it on the lower voltage batteries the revs are kept down, I use 7.2 or 8.4 and it pulls really well. Next time out I'll try a 12v Lead Acid which was purchased at the Warwick show last week, I'll let you know how it goes after this coming Sunday :-))

I run my Sea Scout on a Graupner 600 with 7.2v supply -I can't believe how well it goes,
very impressive, it motors round my lake for over an hour quite happily.
It is a very reasonable priced motor too.

Hello,
When you register with Photobucket do you end up receiving emails and ads etc?
Depending on this I would join up - thanks for the intro though,
got to be able to post photo's sometime! Strange how some pics can be 2Mb plus and others 130K
yet both are pics taken with camera at some point?
-
You don't get sent adds or emails by photobucket, you'll be glad to know. :-))
-
Ok, I have signed up with Photo bucket - & I have uploaded pictures to it
- How do I get to add any of these pictures to a post on this site please?
Thanks
peteg.

Each picture will have an address attached to it. You copy this and paste in into your blog, in the desired position.

Hello again,

Hover over your picture and a box will come up
Click on the bottom choice of the list and copy
Paste this into your Written Letter ( not the Additional options )
where you want the picture to be.

Hi Ken
I have hovered over pic but RH clicking on bottom choice of this box doesn't give me a "copy" option
What does the bottom box say when you do this?
Bottom choice for me says - IMG code and (IMG)http/...............
However ,if I right click on photo itself I do get a "copy" choice which is what I did for that earlier post of the boat!
Is that not correct?
Peteg.
-
yes only LEFT CLICK
then paste it yer xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-
Blimey!
Don't tell me I've got it at last- doh!
However-- unlike other posts with pictures visible you have to click on the link to view mine?
Is that ok then?
-
When you left click it is stored on your machine, so all you do is Right click on your blog and Paste. Ah !!! if only life were this simple
Here's my Photobucket pic of my best friend. keeps my legs moving eh !!

I'm on the point now of giving up as I can't get to do that again.
You have to right click first to copy the picture then right click again to paste - well Im not getting a paste option when I right click.
Putting pictures on this site just seems to be hard work?
Anyway- nice looking fella you have there.
Thanks for trying to help.

Ken,
I'm trying one more time using "Add image to post" facility
(http://s11.postimage.org/b9crzj2n3/Calluna_01.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/b9crzj2n3/)
Previewing it it looks to have worked from my end
Yours? Anything visible!
-
Oh don't give up ............... you are so close
Here is a step by step analysis of how to put up a photbucket picture
1 Find picture on Photobucket
2 Hover mouse over picture
3 Choices will appear in the blow out box
4 Hover mouse over bottom of the list
5 LEFT click this one
6 The box will Grey out
7 Go to your letter on Mayhems wonderful site
8 Hover mouse on the letter page you are writing
9 Right click the mouse
10 select Paste and click left button
11 A load of digital blurb will appear where you want the picture
12 If it's too close to the letter then space it down a line
Your picture has come out well. The size depends on you when you post it originally to Photobucket.
:-)) ;)

Thanks Ken - I have done it your way and ---well---it seems to have worked! Can't believe it!
I think this picture is a duplicate of what I have already posted - sorry to bore all the viewers!
My wife says what a super friend you have - and what is his name?
Thanks again
Peteg.........
-
My pleasure .... and his name is Scout. He's a thorough bred Racing Whippet and he's now 7 years old. We walk miles and miles and NO, I don't let him off the lead as I'd never catch him again. {-)
Your picture looks quality. Well done that man.
