Hi all have just had the Schnellboot plans enlarged to one sixth scale yep 1/6th scale 5.800mm long this will be my last model i plan to build, selling of the others to make room for this monster .
Power is from 3 Honda four stroke engines 35 cc motors central prop is fwd/rev and the two flank engines fwd only, currently getting a website up and running as well due to this massive build, using the Dragon 1/6 scale figures as crew and have started on the gun kits already again Dragon 1/6 scale kits being used.
12 channel r/c with working Torpedo's 100mm X 1000mm have been following the 1/35 build on the Forum of the Schnellboot and just finished a large museum build and now keen to build this one as something different and fun to play with.
Have purchased a old lathe bed to build the hull on to keep her straight and true after 40 years of model building plan to make this one the best yet, working on the crew figures to make them animate as well,so will post up dates on a monthly time frame here and weekly on the website till next time all the best tassie48

Wow I look forward to seeing that one !
-
I think eez lost the plot!
-
Perhaps a few hours in a darkened room with a cold compress will correct this sudden affliction.
Would be interesting though.

At that scale, you'll be able to sail it across the straight, Lookout Melbourne O0 O0 O0

Why bother RCing it, you could sit in it and take the helm yourself!!!! :o :o :o
-
Hope your back is good ! Just worked out the scale displacement 960kgs !!!! Just short of a ton in old money.
Looking forward to seeing this :-))
Below is the link to the boat yard currently restoring a Schnellboot, might be more help than a model boat forum. ok2

Back up on the sunshine state Queensland on the gold coast again.
Gra yep your plans building S130 will do her proud have a big budget and looking fwd to this build even have a new enclosed racing car trailer for her as well along with all the benches and tools new lathe.
Pugwash need a cold room its b hot back here in Queensland.
Till next time busy making all the alloy deck fittings on the milling machine and next week all the rivets on the deck just for the rivet counters have 12 books on the Schnellboot so lots of research.
Longshanks, have their site already plan a visit in the new year to good old England to visit her and some of you guys as well ,hope to have web site up soon as well.
The hull frames are huge looks funny beside the old 1/48 and 1/32 scale models have a keel laid up by the local boat builder one piece Tasmanian Oak good strong and soild even have the fuel tank and fire extingusher made all ready tassie48

Tassie,
Am a little north of you, Brisbane.
Yes there are a few boat builders on the Gold coast with plenty of experience.
Looking forward to the build. :-)) :-))

tug-kenny have updated the profile as requested ,RaaArtyGunner have the best looking Keel frame ever it is bang on to the mm looks like a piece of art on its own, frames all cut and line bored for the electrics etc currently make the KNEES rib support frames to hold the main frames in place.
Machining up the deck rivets heads to scale each one on their own just so the rivet counters can count them, engines are at the shop new exhaust and fuel lines being made own custom made mounts and clutch and couplings being made as well some things its better to get made by the guys that do it ion a daily basic then attempt a one of make.
Working on the crew this week the Captain will lift and lower his binoculars and turn his head to spot the enemy same with the lookout crew.
Hope to have a torpedo tuned up in the lathe this week end then will fit out the r/c later. tassie 48

Tassie,
Is your "boat builder" located at "Labrador industrial" or "runaway bay"
Lived on the Gold Coast and worked Gold Coast/Albert Shire, (Albert Shire, now incorporated into Gold Coast) for a number of years.
-
Labrador last of the true wooden boat builders finding it hard to fine the timber joins in the keel 5.8 meters long it,s a big lump of wood just machined the keel brass strips to protect her really is a piece of art tassie48.
-
There is also a real old style yard at Loders Creek who still carry out work.
-
just finished the 210 mm props off they really are big 3 bladers and cone ends hope to balance them tonight
