Title: Electric Motors
Post by: U-33 on November 23, 2011, 03:51:22 pm
Would any interested members like to state what they think is a GOOD quality
electric motor which they have experience of ie reliability, cool running etc.
There are many out there but what are the really good ones?
Thanks to all.

There certainly are many out there and most will be great for one or more applications.
Thats the nub
What it will be used for as a great Tug motor might not be much use in a Perkasa and vice versa
Basically its horses for courses and the gurus for each application on here will point you in the right direction
for the model in question.

Hello Martin,
Ok, I run amongst other boats  a 36"Fireboat with single motor
-a friend is re-fitting a 46" Fireboat with single motor perrhaps 8.4v
- I am refiting a 36" lg Tarpon - a poster/friend has suggested a Darke Horse 6-12v motor - single motor
you can see photo's of this boat on an earlier posting.
There are widely varying prices for Graupner motors - would like a recommendation if at all possible.
 700 size perhaps.
