Thanks guys, I am a long way away in Canada & things do happen to us as we get older. I knew he had been attacked by another member, in my view unfairly. After being on the forum for some months you learn whose advice to take notice of , both you Colin,Ned & Peter are on my short list, LOL. You too Martin, sorry about that ,last but not least. Neil has helped me several times already so that was why I had missed him. Mick B.
-
Neil is a real Gent' - ask him a question and he takes the trouble to reply - one friendly guy. O0
Dave
-
Thanks Dave, I found him the same way, I would like to meet him sometime, trouble is Canada is a long way away.I will have to invite him for a holiday. Mick B.
-
Neil is fine everyone, spoke to him the other day. I'm sure he'll be back on here soon, Dave. O0
-
Mick,
Hope being on your short list is good and not bad %) %) %) {-) {-) {-)
-
Its TOP notch Arty, There are some great guys on here & that includes you(I am not looking for favours LOL) too often the good guys don't get recognised for what they do. Sometimes it seems that the noisy ones get all the glory, but not in my book they don't. I still feel Neil did nothing wrong. Mick B.

I'm with you guys. I have always found Neil to be a really nice, helpful guy with plenty of good advice.
On this occasion all he did was offer a sensible opinion and advice and then got abuse for doing so.
After all how many boats has any one seen with the main motors up near the bow of the boat and such a long exposed prop shaft.
Lets hope Neil is soon back with more expert help and advice.

Agreed! Had the pleasure of dealing with him when he was selling some boats for a friend, he was very helpful and even sorted me out with a radio set (foc) to get it going!
-
I met Neil for the first time this year at Blackpool after corresponding with him over a few years. I have always found him to be friendly and helpful, and I for one would always be willing to have him offer me advice, which he gives freely, and in a well meaning and HELPFUL way.
He is fine,as I was in touch with him yesterday, and I am sure he will be back!
Mick
-
Neil , and I am sure he will be back! Mick
:-)) :-)) O0 O0

I know Neil is annoyed about offering some constructive criticism in a subject he's passionate and very knowledgeable about and then getting criticised himself for offering an opinion and advice. Neil may seem a bit 'blunt and to the point' at times, but he tells it like it is and that's just his way. I don't know if he'll be back or not, I hope he will be. I'm sure if anyone wants to ask his advice he'd be happy to give it. Dave.

From what I can gather there is only the speaker of the House of Commons wife that knows more about vibration than Neil {-) {-) :embarrassed: O0 ;D
Peter

It is terrific to have you back I was afraid you had sailed away in one of your lifeboats. Seriously it is obvious that you have a lot of respect from the members here & that we all missed you. Very glad that you got things back on a level playing field with Martin. Thank you both for that, Mick B.
-
Hi ARTY, Sometimes stupidity exceeds all common sense & that was certainly the case here, unbelievable !!!.

Hi Neil , I don't want to make more smoke, if you look at Arty's pictures of the train burning, thats where I meant to post that comment, I am embarrassed. Mick B.

Leave it Ken, if you move it or delete it now it will mess up this light hearted topic. (http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p8/DickyD_photos/taz.gif)

OK
I'm all for light-hearted. After all, it's the Chit Chat column that's the most entertaining. :}

Talking of "Missing" it is not advisable to say on the open Web that you are going away on Holiday and leaving your house empty.
Hope you understand but we are trying to protect our members
