Title: Brighton Modelworld 2012
Post by: Kangaroo1 on February 09, 2012, 08:59:42 pm
Is anyone going to, or previously been to, Brighton Modelworld? This year it's on 24th to 26th Feb.

http://www.brightonmodelworld.com/

I've never been to a model show before, but as this one is my nearest, I'm thinking about going.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Definitely worth going to. It's a great show with lots of different types of modelling as well as boats which have their own indoor  pool. It's the nearest thing we've got down South to the classic days of the old ME Exhibition. Plus there are Daleks!

Lots of traders as well as exhibitors.

I am travelling up from Cornwall to exhibit my Lifeboats. I have been told its an excellent show.A bit worried about unloading from a motorhome though,as there are restrictions, and backwarding a nd forwarding from the racecourse.apparently its a bit of a free for all. Looking positive,I am looking forward to a great weekend

It's a good show, but beware of the traffic wardens....they appear out of nowhere, and their supplies of tickets are endless! If you can, park round the back in the layby right outside the rear entrance, they normally leave you alone there.

Unfortunately, The Association of Model Submariners won't be attending in an official capacity due to ongoing illness's from most of the travelling members, but one or two of the guys will be on their local club's stands with a few subs.

See you there!!

I want last year. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of boat traders and boats in general, but the pool demos made up for it. However i spent most of the day there as did my wife so it must have be good.
The Lifeboat lift was something else. The trucks where great and i really want one now!! Maybe when i win the loto.

I shall be exhibiting with the Southwater Dabblers MBC, there will be stands from the Warship Squadron MBC and I thinkthe Moorhen MBC will be there. Another show worth a visit later in the year (9th/10th June) and not to far from you in Littlehampton and normally with about a dozen or so traders is Alfold Charity Model Boat Show. Check out another thread on this website for that. Alan

Thanks Alan, I've already pencilled in the Alfold Show on 9th & 10th June. As you say, it's not far from me!

Cherry & Graham, I'll be sure to stop by if I can make it.
