Can I use any Futaba 40mhz receiver with my transmitter ie. 2 channel, 3ch, 4ch, etc?
I only need 2 channels on my current setup but would like to use purchases off ebay as they are rather expensive new.
Thanks

What transmitter do you have?

Just a basic Futaba T2ER 40Mhz - nothing special
with this receiver (BEC) ----------- R152JE

Any 40meg Futaba Rx will do as long as it is FM or AM the same as the Tx. :-))

Google-ig that set it comes up as 40mhz AM, and most 40mhz receivers will be FM. AFAIK the AM system was only used for 2-channel sets, but I may be mistaken.
Actually I have an Attack 2DR transmitter and receiver still in the box, with a pair of crystals which says 81, so I'm guessing that is 815. The receiver was installed in a boat, but never actually used in anger. The transmitter hasn't been used at all. Can't ever see me using it in anything. Interested? I'd like to sell them as a pair really.

Hello,
My Futaba Attack is an AM frequency @40Mhz. All my boats run with this TX. 2 channels only.
Each receiver I fit costs between £16-£21. Sometimes I see receivers on Ebay with more than 2 channels go for less than I pay.
Hence my question.(Can I use more than 2 ch on my system)?
Thanks for your offer - I could be interested, how much are you looking for? Bearing in mind though that AM and FM won't mix?
Sorry, what does AFAIK ,mean?
Peteg.......

AFAIK- is shorthand for 'as far as I know'.
How about £10 plus whatever it cost to send it? It is a 40mhz AM set.
If the 40mhz receivers you see are AM, then they should work, although you'll only be able to access two of the channels naturally.

Hi,
Well, my current set -up is 40mhz AM so I would like to accept your offer on that basis.
I have 3 boats that I will be refurbishing over the coming months and all are in need of fitting out with
radio gear etc, etc, costing a fair bit.
Thank you,
Let me know how to sort this out with you.
Regards,
PeterG

Peter. Why not bite the bullet and go for a 2.4 set. Giant cod sell the Radio Link set for under £30. Say goodbye to crystals. Extra recs are cheap. Plenty of infro on Mayhem, including a review. John.

Go 2.4ghz from giant cod
Cheaper and no grew probs

Well err..... I thought I might end up in this position! It has crossed my mind for some time now
but with a loft full of finished boats all fitted with 40mhz receivers it takes some thinking about!
I'll study the market till the weather breaks!
Thanks.......

Weight of the box with the stuff in is under 600 grams, so I think it will go as a packet rather than a parcel, so postage is a couple of quid.
I'll have to ask down the post office though, not entirely sure.
I can take Paypal, or a cheque.
2.4ghz is a great way to go. I use Corona gear to convert my old transmitters and so far have found it extremely reliable. Pity it doesn't work underwater.
Probably an inexpensive way to go if you have a lot of models to convert, is to look at a second hand Spektrum transmitter and buy a job lot of the Orange RX's from Hobbyking.

Thats fine, confirm the cost when you have it and I will arrange through Paypal
Thats for a Transmitter and receiver, 40mhz 2 ch with crystal.
Why don't you PM me with details when you are ready.
Thanks
