Title: Scales - converting between 1/72 ans 1/96

Hello to the technical minds out there.

If i want to convert something from 1/72 down to 1/96, i am correct thinking I have to reduce things to 0.75 of the original size?
Is it really that simple?

yes, 72/96 = 0.75
OR
1/72 = 1inch to 6 feet
1/96 = 1inch to 8 feet
6/8  = 0.75
