Title: Cornish crabber 26
Post by: elias on February 13, 2012, 01:00:04 am
I'm interested into scratch built a Cornish Crabber 26 in a scale near 1:6 for radio control, but so far I haven't found where to get the line drawings and sail plan. Pictures I did find, but it seems that no one has already built such a boat.

Could you  help me?

Regards fro Portugal

The Crabber 26, despite its traditional appearance, is a new design and has only been on the market for a year or so.  I'd be surprised if you can find the lines of the boat anywhere other than from the builders.  I suggest you ask them if they can help - www.cornishcrabbers.co.uk.

Does it have to be a Crabber 26?  There are a number of similar designs/types that are popular subjects for models.

(Incidentally, if anyone is interested in the process of tooling and prototyping the Crabber 26, a series of Practical Boat Owner articles can be accessed through the Cornish Crabbers website.)

Good luck with your project Jose

Thank you very much for your help, Greg. In fact it hasn't to be that model I would be satisfied with something similar.I'll keep looking.

:-)well I have already the line drawings of a almost (sister boat). At least no big differences, same LOA same cock. That's OK. Let's try to build it.
Thank you

Hi

It may seems strange, but I begun with the stern panel. Well two stern panels. They will be glued together in order to make it thick and allow a perfect curb. The bow is already cut, glued and waiting the glue to cure.
I begun at the same time as a fellow of mine and I'm waiting he finish his hull and profit from his "shipyard".

Ok

Finally the yard came from my friend's house and now I'm able to continue the construction of the Crabber 26.
