I have a mystery 2632 1000kv 350w motor i have just upgraded from 9.6v to 11.1 i did a full power test in the pool today to check all was ok but the motor got very hot and smelled even hotter so the cheap ebay motor needs to be replaced any advice? basicly i guess the bargain motors wont handle to much A so i need a decent quality motor that wont fry.
Unless i need to cool it but not sure thats the best thing to do or if it's just hiding the fact the motor isn't top quality here's a link to the motor i have. It ran fine on 9.6v no problems.

What size prop have you hooked it up to?
Cooling isn't a bad idea, brushless motors run colder than brushed equivalents, owing to no friction from the brush gear. Outrunner motors tend to be about about 75% efficient. If that motors is genuinely rated at 350 watts, that means about 90 watts is being generated in heat if the motors is well loaded. However looking at it, that looks nearer a 200 watt motor to me, perhaps a bit less.

At the moment it's on an X35 prop in a small fast electric the motor pushes it fine but as i said the 11.1 did make it very hot i did hold and run at full throttle to do a full extreme test but i do think the quality of the motor needs to be better

x35 should be okay at that RPM, you just want some cooling.
