Title: Sculling
Post by: rickles23 on March 25, 2012, 02:25:16 pm
Hi,

For a spare hull that I have I decided rather rashley to have it propelled by a moving figure with a single oar over the transom.

As I am mechanically challenged I would like to find someone who is prepared to make the figure and send it to me here in Australia.

A negotiated fee is on offer and I do have the plans.

Regards

There's probably a way to set up a pendulum so that wave action would swing the figure and scull the boat.
You could use one of those hula dancer figures that goes on the car's dashboard :)

Hi,

On the plans it shows how to connect the servo up inside the figure to give power and steering.

Don't know if it is of any interest but Model Boats had a nice little sculling boat with moveable man called Happy Harry back in the 80s
I have the plan - and the boat - and it worked pretty well.  design by Graham Goodchild (who did a lot of neat little designs around that time)

But now Harry is getting older and he no longer sculls to get around - he has a British Seagull instead

Plans and pics available to if interested or if it sparks some ideas.  But t'will have to be from home as I can't access photobucket from work

Hi,

It seems the subject has changed from the original post.

I need someone to make the control unit for me.
