Title: restoration project
Post by: boatmadman on April 07, 2007, 06:13:32 pm
Hi,

Is there anyone on here who undertakes restorations?

I have been asked about restoring a small model drifter built about 60 yrs ago that has had the back end knocked off - mainly just the bulwarks around the stern.

Other work needed is a repaint, re rig and a good spruce up. i have photos and have seen the model itself, its up at Buckie in Scotland.

The owner asked if I would do it, but I just dont have the time. He indicated that paying for the restoration is expected but we didnt discuss any amounts.

If anyone is interested, I have some pics and can discuss further the detail of the work required.

Thanks

Ian

hi boatmadman

just out of pure curiosity, on one of the pics , it looks like a clockwork motor in the hull - is the propellor driven by clockwork.

Just up my street, but I have just taken on 3 models today requiring lots of work, a 10 foot cruiser and a tug to finish.
And to top it all I am back to sea on Wednesday.
Hope you find someone.
If you dont find someone by about 2020 give me a shout      :)
