does anyone know if 'the signalbox' model shop is still operating. tried their website 3 or 4 days ago and sent an email but no reply yet. generally they reply the same day or next day at the latest. just tried their site again and it came up page unavailable.

Or
https://railsofsheffield.com/default.aspx
These are the ones I use most of all as they have the most reasonable international postage

thanks guys. i will work my way through those sites and to mog10, that was the email address i sent my enquiry to. maybe they are too busy or just dont want my business.

When The Signalbox was owned by Trevor it was a first class shop selling everything train orientated but after he sold the business I personally think it's gone down hill <:(
-
ahhhhh. that may explain it. new owners. i have dealt with them before and their replies and delivery was very good. still no reply so sent an order to ehattons. hopefully they will provide a better service. isnt it strange that new owners can downgrade their service when you would think they would want to be on top of their game. a model shop i used to deal with in nz has gone the same way too and are losing established customers on a daily basis mainly due to the attitude of one of the new owners and the fact the first thing they did was up the prices on most things. obviously havent heard of the saying, 'dont bite the hand that feeds you'.
-
the signalbox did eventually reply but i had already placed my order by then. well impressed with hattons service. emails replied to, quoted prices then delivery to nz in a week. recently i ordered some parts from christchurch (80km from me) and that took 4 days. needless to say hattons will be my uk supplier from now on.
-
Yep hattons are quite good and the international postage prices are pretty reasonable

Thanks for that link Dicky, I have been trying to get Atlas 0 gaugeTrack in GB for a long time, and these people actually stock it. I will give them a call later and keep my fingers crossed that they do the 3-rail version!

something i have never been in to was 3 rail track. i know in real life its used in mountainous areas but never really seen any advantages of it in model use. not knocking it. just curious.

When I were a lad, 3 rail (Trix Twin) was the only way to run 2 trains on the same track at the same time. :-))
