A Reminder to all you Lifeboat enthusiasts, free sailing day at Papplewick Pumping Station on 15th July 2012, located between Mansfield and Nottingham off the A60 or A614 (satnav.NG15 9AJ - Rigg Lane).This will be a great day out for all the family, modellers welcome to either display or sail your models on the ornamental cooling pond situated within these beautiful grounds.The Victorian built James Watt beam engine will be in steam, together with many more attractions. Refreshments will be available, gift shop, picnic area,along with ample car parking.Gates open at 9.30am with free entry for sailors and exhibitors. Hi, we have some tables but it would help if you could bring a table etc, O0 yes you my also bring a boat or 2 for sale, we will be raising funds for the RNLI so please bear this in mind, ok2 ok2

yes there is a large car park opposite the pumping station you will be able to park your caravan there, OK :-))

Good stuff ! just got to tell her indoors we are staying another night and come home via your event for a few hours on the way home. I will not have any boats with me but it will be good to pop over and have a look.

Hi All, %% We have been sailing today Sunday 8th July at Papplewick i have taken some photos and John Poll will pop them on Mayhem for you to view. %) O0 There will be a large marque for you to display your boats, O0 if you have a table it would help, :embarrassed: battery charging facilities are available. :P Ample car parking adjacent to the Pumping Station, :police: if any one requires assistance with models etc please ask there will be plenty of bodies to help. ;) i will be on site from 09.00 so see you there. :-)) :-)) :-))

Well what can anyone say it was a loverly day plenty of different lifeboats big and small,meeting old friends and also meeting new friends,but the day is down to roger and his team for putting this event on,so thank you roger and the team for a good show(shame about the weather)it was nearly sunshine all day not use to this !!.baloo(martin)

Hi neil,the white 47' watson was called soloman brown owned by a gentleman from mansfield,didn`t get his name but he said his shed at home is full of different lifeboats eg.over 20 ! but it was a lovely model.Adrian clutterbuck(lifeboat enthusiasts society) took some photo`s so he might remember his name.All i remember he did say who won the trophy for best boat? it was won by a steam trawler,and he said i thought it was for "best" lifeboat anyway it was called soloman brown sorry to be a bit long winded

8) Hi to you all, regarding the trophy awarded at Papplewick Lifeboat day, i asked a visiting member of the public with no connection to any mobel boaters, to choose the model boat they liked the best,this did not have to be a lifeboat and the lady choose the fishing trawler. O0 Lets face it guys we had some excellent Models both on display and sailing, the weather was great and i hope you all have a good time. >>:-( If i have up set some rivet counter regarding the trophy <:( <:( well if thay wish to purchase a trophy and forword me the invocie ill refund them of the cash OK <*< <*<

thanks Baloo........so it was the illfated Penlee boat.....think they changed her cabin colour to orange at a later date before her loss. cheers,
