4mm Balraced prop, with oiler
Futaba metal gear rudder servo (was the tail servo on my Caliber 3 helicopter)

(http://s10.postimage.org/6et58arph/097.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/6et58arph/)
both models use the grp hull , but have the cabins permently attached with removable sections for acsess to motors , control equipment and batteries  !

Just a quick post so I can find this thread easily, I would also be interested in the contents of the "fittings kit" before I start on mine.

( Request to Martin for a "watch this thread" button on the forum  :} )

( Just found a "Notify" button might try that ! )

then you could add , morse controls , dash clock set , pulpit / pushpit ,  stanchions . both types of air scoops , laser cut window frames , cockpit screen frame ,  mushroom vents etc all dependant what they are proposing to make these fittings from ? personally i dont like the white metal stuff thats available so wont use it , hence ive made most of my own parts including the polished alloy air scoops on my 31 ! jon

Hi

Red181 has a very nice Huntsman - he can also supply nice custom made air scoops.
I can't find the sales post to show you (it was there pre meltdown) - Try a PM - maybe he will still do them.

His scoops are too big for this kit... he has the 48" model

What planking do you guys reccomend for the deck?

mine is also the 34 inch version , my deck is laid with 5mm wide teak strips

Mine's the Precedent 34" but it's a total wreck at he moment.
Thought I'd mention that I really liked the Walnut I used recently.

I have just dropped the window frame parts off to be recut by cnc in light alloy and then polished (Local machine shop owes me a favor lol)
If they turn out OK and there's any interest in these then Ill see about getting a few sets made up

Also does anyone know where there is a good supplier of suitable deck furniture?

Sorry for Hijacking Jackos thread but I thought that the information is relevant to his build as well.

Ill start a build log this evening as I have started putting mine together

what is the distance from the transom to the propshaft entry point?
Using PM devlins settings of 23mm from keel to prop and prop 110mm from the transom

depending on your set up  i did post on the other thread ( spearfish requirements ) a week or two ago a full set of dimensions for fitting both the propshafts and rudders through the hull , my own models are twin shaft , & the motor/s are fitted in the same position as they would be on a full size fairey huntsman 31 / spearfish

Thats great thanks...

is the 30mm from propshaft to hull skin measured from the centre of the propshaft or the top? my proptube is 8mm in diameter so its a 4mm difference
Title: Re: huntsman
Post by: triumphjon on April 25, 2012, 08:19:53 am
i normally measure from the centre of the propshaft , to the hull skin .

I thought so but just wanted to double check
The precident instructions are a little sparse when it comes to the prop shaft install
Title: Re: huntsman
Post by: triumphjon on April 25, 2012, 02:46:15 pm
note , my shafts are much shorterthan the original precedent recomendation , my motors are below the open cockpit , ive opened  the section behind the air scoops on the cabin sides and made some internal ducting which forces a small amount of air down towards the motors ,
