I am in the process of spraying the hull sides on a 2 x scale Eezibilt Mermaid
with rattle can metallic blue, but I've got a bit of a 'problemette' - :embarrassed:
I can produce quite a good blue surface, or a nice metallic surface but
not a single uniformly coloured surface. Best seems to be blue with a
silvery metallic bloom in patches - Anybody had experience of this and
managed to solve it?
If I can't get the spray-can method to work then I will fallback onto airbrushing
with Humbrol metallic blue, hopefully that should do the trick! but I'd like to solve
the current problem if I can.

My only suggestion is to spray in one direction only.
By that I mean press button and spray left to right, then button off and move back to the start position and repeat - for the other side spray right to left :-))

Ah.... yes. It looks very good - ply sides, I presume?
I was really hoping for some shots (or a build log) which I could put up on the EeZeBilt site.....

Hi DG
All the hull sheeting is balsa/tissue/sanding sealer.
I shall contact you directly with regards to putting together a full build log for the Eezebuilt site

Very kind of you!
It looks as if you didn't find a need to provide extra bulkhead supports when doubling up? Steve Heward did for his Triton, but that is somewhat bigger. I recall that when I made a Mermaid back in the 1960s the long streamlined sides picked up a few unfortunate ripples when the inside got damp, so good waterproofing is probably called for.
With a brushless it should fairly bounce along!
