Title: WW2 BATTLESHIP PLANS
Post by: nige1958 on June 14, 2012, 06:06:29 pm
My plans problem for Scharnhorst/Gneisenau has now been resolved with a tip from an Italian model builder who's name can neither pronounce or spell gave me a tip about a series of books called SCALE DRAWINGS IN 3D by Mariusz Motya and Grzegorz Nowak published by KAGERO.

They seem to list Bismark, Repulse, North Carolina, Takao, Kongo and I am sure there are others.

This book is absolutely superb it breaks the superstructure down into block in great detail and even has drawings in 1/350 scale. You would not need any other research on the ship so long as you trustthese guys to get it right.

It is like having hundreds of colour ppictures of the completed ship broken down into all fittings and major superstructure assemblies in your workshop.

I dont know what else they have in their series of books but anyone contemplating a WW2 ship this is an absolute must have.

Very happy bunny I am

You missed one from your list (whilst not ww2) - HMS Queen Mary 1913. This is really quite good and an unusual subject matter. Amazon do them at a good price.

Right up my street!
