Hi Nick,
It's great to hear from you!
So is this engine finally going into production.......??
How are you keeping? Have you had time to get any boating in, full size and model, since we last heard from you?

Greg!
I've been well mate. It's great to hear from you too! How have you been?
Haven't had much time for boating or building since I last was on the forum here. Been super busy with other work outside of my hobbies. Things are finally calming down a bit and I'm looking forward to spending some time once again on model steam stuff.
I wouldn't say this engine is going into a production run like the old engines but when I return back home from Ireland at the end of this month I'm looking forward to machining all the parts for a few of these.
Thank you for the kind compliments Ian and Mark! The bore and stroke is the Same as the Heron engines. 3/8" X 3/8"
I'll keep you guys posted on the progress of the build as it goes together.
Cheers,
Nick

Hi Nick,
Welcome back, it's good to here that you are still lurking in the back ground.
I do like the design idea for your engine but would ask the question, is the lubricator inbuilt to the cylinder casting or is it held in place behind the cylinder lagging cover.
Being so near to the cylinder will keep the lubricator near to the cylinder temperature which will invalidate the operation of the on line displacement lubricator and will not allow any condensate getting into it to force the oil over into the cylinders.
Also I don't see any way to meter the oil going into the engine, my preference always has been to have a needle valve control of the engines oil requirement.
Just a thought, what do you think.
George.

Hi everyone,
Thank you all for the warm welcome back. Yup, I'm still around and looking forward to building some model boats and engines again.
Sorry for my delayed response to you. I just got back from Ireland a couple days ago and I'm still catching up on things.
It's so nice to hear from all of you and I'm happy to see a lot of familiar faces on here. Looking forward to catching up on what you all have been up to while I've been away for going on almost two years now I think?
Cheers,
Nick
