Are you using the same boiler you did for the Cheddar Puffin to power the Graham TVR1A? I'm asking because the Graham has twice the volume of the Puffin, 8cc versus 4 cc. It would need a more powerful boiler as well.

In response to your PM question: I haven't really tested the Puffin boiler with the Graham (only ran it once, without load) so I can't really tell if it could perform well in a boat. It was the old style Cheddar Puffin boiler, with return flues.

However, Cheddar boilers are usually quite powerful, so it might be enough even for the Graham. Just keep in mind that the Graham TVR1A has double the volume of the Cheddar Puffin engine, thus consuming more steam.

To get good results you might also need to increase the prop diameter and/or number of blades, so the Graham won't spin too fast and waste steam without getting the power into the water.

Here you can see what my Cheddar Puffin return flue boiler looks like.

If yours isn't the same, having just a single centre flue, with the chimney at the opposite end to the burner, then you have the newer style of Cheddar Puffin boiler.
