I notice that there is an article in the August edition of Model Boats about H.M.A.S. Castlemaine now sitting by the wharf in Williamstown.
I have quite a few detail photos of her if anyone is thinking of building a model.

Hi BrianB6
you mean like this one ? we have been working on a new kit for a number of years, but need more detials, and they will not pay my expenses to go and have a look at her, 6-7 weeks in a 5 star hotel, not a lot to ask I thought.
any information would be appreciated

It would make a nice kit Ron, right up your street. I assume you would base it on your Bathurst hull.
The article was by my daughter Zara who visited the ship while in Oz last year.

Hi BrianB6
Very many thanks, nice looking boat as Colin says based on our Bathhurst hull. the plans we have of the class are very old and vague, ( and it does not carry a gun cab) never released as a kit as we needed more details, and as I said they would not pay me to go and take pics ? We try to get it as best and accurate we can, if not, as with this one, it does not get released, or all the sad ones out there will just pick on every little thing they can find wrong, must be the glue.
Many thanks for the offer, very much appreciated.
Regards

Just got all my pics returned of my very memorial visit to the H M A S Castlemaine ,we were treated exceptionally well and to see the work that the voluteers have done on this ship ,it would shame a lot of people ,I was asked by a few guys about the Warship state in Birkenhead ,and why there was no fight to keep them ,needless to say I couldnt answer these questions being in the group of Vets I was in company of .The other Naval museum was also a spectacular visit . more to come on this ,the Model sailing club I was invited to join for a spell was also very friendly and the rules were ,,same as at sea ..a very fasinating and so very different aproach to all .
