Can anyone recommend a suitable /preferred adhesive for securing a new propshaft tube into
the hull.
Had to remove mine today after sailing, as it had actually split lengthways down
half the length of the tube

Thanks....

Hi,
Secure the shaft in place, on the outside, put insulating tape over the hole and around the shaft. Use P40 to build up around the shaft on the inside of the hull. Once dry, take off the tape on the outside and fill any gaps with P38, sand and paint - job done!
P38 and P40 both available at a well known high street motor spares outlet!

Firstly though, replace the tube with a proper piece of extruded brass, not cheap rolled stuff :-))

Aah! Interesting? How would I tell the difference?
I generally buy the tube and shaft as one unit from Ebay or model shop
Thanks.

Ian,
Can you enlighten me on the difference between P38 & P40 please
- I know the shop you refer to begins with an H!
Thank you....

P38 is body filler
P40 is for Glassfibre repair
