could some one tell me how much a 6 volt 4 amp battery weighs thanks

A quick look at your local online model shop:

tells us that it is about 849g.

i suppose your talking about a gell cell (sealed lead)..??
between 720 g and 900 g depending on the maker...
a panasonic would be close to 720g
a Yuasa would be closer to 900g

About a pound and a half 24oz approx.

1 gram = 0.00220462262 pounds
720g x 0.0022 = 1.584 pounds
900g x 0.0022 = 1.98 pounds

You already have one. It came with Windows, click "Start", click "All Programs", scroll to "Accessories" and click that, it's about 2nd or 3rd down. It has the option of being an ordinary calculator of one of those fancy ones.

Try typing "720g lbs" into the search bar.
Mmm, it says 1.58733 lbs.
