Hi guys... What boat is this? I really like the shape of the hull.

Quote from the site.
That's the first RC model of a steam whale catcher I've ever seen. I would like to see more videos of it and to see it completed. It looks a lot like the "Southern Actor", a preserved whale catcher located in Sandefjord.
Hope this helps.

I must have missed where it said it was a Whale Catcher.... sorry! :embarrassed:

I Do agree with you. It is a lovely hull, isn't it. :-))

Still 4 steam whalers similar to her in Reykjavik Iceland , normally laid in the main harbour on the same pier they use for the whale watching boats....

Here it is Kenny...

Hey that is a cracker. I reckon it's hull is similar to the Boston Typhoon from Mountfleet's range.
-
I know this sounds a bit daft but I couldn't really build a Whale hunting boat... I kinda like whales too much!

Go for the Boston Typhoon. It's a great ship to build.

Yes, thanks Kenny, I will have a look at that. I ought to finish the Lifeboat I'm building first!

the best hull for replicating a whaler is the Flower class corvette, which is basically what it was......a whaler design put to use by the Royal Navy.
neil.
