Title: Mojo (Choupette by another name)
Post by: steamshed on October 25, 2012, 11:58:19 am
Hi All

After seeing the build on MBM I fancied this as my next project, so here are a few photo's.

Macsteam 3" boiler, Anton engine, Cheddar gas tank and Attenuator, the hull is the Choupette plan I did however skin it with fibreglass cloth as used by the glider boys,. Total weight 5kgs.

First outing not so good, lacked performance (speed), operating pressure around 35psi, I have just replace the prop with a 4 bladed one from Prop shop with a much greater pitch, now waiiting for a nice day.

Mike

Nice job! Your pipe work is very neat, Mine always ends up looking like the opening credits to Monty Pythons Flying Circus....

Hi Alan & PO Nick
Many thanks for your comments
Nick I made the AQ last year using Kinston hull just about the best hulls/Glassfibre I've come across, powered it with a Puffin

Regards

Hi Mike, do you have any photos of your African Queen? I too am using the Kingston Mouldings hull, and a very nice hull it is too. I will be powering it with my TVR engine and a Maccsteam 3.5'' vertical boiler. I have not started the build yet, still sorting out the engine layout.
Regards,
Nick.
