I thought I was being smart getting a couple of 12v 10 cell 4600mah packs, but now I have come to look at a charger for them after the event, there don't seem to be many around.
My present thoughts are to stick with component shop and their 300/600ma smart charger which seems very reasonably priced, but was wondering what other options are out there that people know/use?

The Imax B6 is a good charger as it will charge pretty much any type of battery, Lipo, PB, NiCd, NiMh etc etc.

Thanks essex, have looked at those too, but usually a bit more expensive especially as generally have to have a mains lead as extra, though have come across a complete pack for £30, so thats much better.

I personally would go for the component shop one as they are very helpful should you have any problems, their delivery is fast

yes thats true... Im not knocking the component shop charger but that will not offer the flexibilty of the B6..... "one charger to rule them all" :D
If Component shop offer a similar charger then I would say buy from there, but when I last looked they didn't

Just been looking around for B6 - see as in everything there is a fake market here too, though what would appear to be genuine items are also available at a decent price. I'm not in the LiPo market as yet, but no doubt its the way ahead so a 'do it all' charger would seem to make sense, just the B6 doesnt appear to come with a Tamyia connection, no big shakes but would rather do without conversion leads and the like. Any idea what the push pin charger side plugs are size wise, easier to make up a dedicated lead probably.

4 or 5mm bananas, can't remember of the top of my head. but I'll look tonight.... I have a spare Tamiya cable if you need it. I moved over to deans on pretty much all my RC cars now

That would be great if you can let me know the size, I'll knock a set up, already have plenty of Tamiyas so probably cheaper than posting but appreciate the offer non the less.

4mm great, figured might be, seems to be the usual size on a few charger leads I spotted. Thanks for the help.

I use the GT Power A6D now replaced by GT PowerA606D charger (http://www.4-max.co.uk/gt-a606d-charger.htm)
Covers all the battery chemistry available and comes with most leads you need. Dual power so you can take it with you to the pond. No problems with it in almost 2 years..

i bought the sky rc e6650 through my local ripmax agent ( fratton models ) last christmas , its a little more expensive than the imaxb6 , but comes with both mains and 11-18volt power leads , it will charge nicad/nimh 1-15 cells , lipo/life/lion 1-6 cells and pb batteries 2-20volts as well as discharging and cycling cells . must say im very pleased with it . jon

I got a charger from them recently and, long story short, I've ordered a replacement for it from an eBay supplier rather than keep banging my head against the wall.
(About 10 mins after I wrote the above the replacement arrived. Took 5 days from ordering, including a weekend, which ain't bad ... from Greece! Got some nice stamps on it :-)) )
