Title: hello
Post by: PierreRoemer on November 14, 2012, 09:30:49 pm
Hello,
My name is Pierre and I am Chief Patissier in a few hotels throughout Europe. In my sparetime I like to programme, read books and visit the sauna. Recently I found an old RC Boat in my basement and decided to start all over again building boats. So, I went to the RC Shop and started with a Leopard 2845/3D, which seems to be a competitive motor the shopowner told me. I hope to find some answers at this forum  :-)
Regards,
Pierre

Sorry, I have to fill in verification letters and answer all kind of questions that are so obvious that the answer is wrong all the time  :-) .
What is this forum about?
Well, euh... model boats???? Wrong, wrong, wrong.... ?

The verification system is only to keep the  'Bots and spammers'  wandering around the Web, so do not worry about it.

Have a look around the Forum and enjoy yourself.   :}

Pierre

If you cannot find examples of modelling on the forum, it's tempting to wonder how far you have looked!

I think he is talking about the  'signing up'  enquiry questions which only require a few words to show there is a human wishing to join the club.  This is designed , like I said above, to eliminate Bots.

Normally, we start with a boat that we like, then try to work out the right motor for it.  Looking in the fast boat sections of the forum should show some examples of boats using a motor of similar specification, asking the question there might get a useful reply since that is where the members who are interested in fast boats gather.

As to site security - if the door was left open to spammers, the site would be over-run by them very quickly.  Even with the checks, some have tried.  They usually get spotted and rejected within their first day.
