Hi there new to the hobby and have just placed my order and awaiting delivery of a Northumberland Coble hull from Orion Mouldings.
http://www.orionmouldings.com/apps/webstore/products/show/3254192 (http://www.orionmouldings.com/apps/webstore/products/show/3254192)
I plan to "fit it out" (is this the right term?) as a potting boat with an electric motor.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get hold of some 1:12 scale deck crew and lobster pots if possible?

For the accessories you could try Macs Mouldings www.macsmouldings.co.uk although I couldn't see lobster pots on a quick look. For 1/12 figures the ones produced for lifeboat crew might work (although fishermen rarely wear lifejackets while the RNLI, as you would expect, are red hot on that). Try Speedline Models www.speedlinemodels.com or this thread here http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=10396.msg331246#new. Or e-bay or Amazon are always worth a try.
Hope that sets you on your way.

i have done one of these..... they make a lovely interesting model....- you can get figures at 1 to 12th or 1 to 10th scale from cap maquettes in france, they're costly but great.....
i also second the macs mouldings comments- great for fittings,
my lobster pots i got from marks model bits.......

looking into fitting a motor and controls etc, being completely new to this i am unsure of what motor, coupling, propellor to go for. Also where is best to fit the motor and drill the shaft hole in the hull. are there any how to's out there that could possibly help?
-
if its of any help i use the most straight forward set up going, a simple 545 ( 5 pole low drain motor ) i use a standard huco coupling and a small 35mm 3 blade brass prop... everything is powered from a 7.2 volt nicad... runtime is about 50 to 60 mins from a 3500mah pack... i actually have 2 batteries in the boat just for ballast reasons....

The round fenders similar to Guys I believe can be got from Andy, i.e. Models by design.
