Title: Rapid Prototyping

Has anyone ever used a rapid prototyping service to produce fittings for their models?  Can anyone recommend a company who can do this?  How much do these services cost?  I do not require anyone to create the 3d model as I can do this myself.
 
I have seen some some pictures of winches (its actually a winch which I am considering having done) done this way in model boats magazine and they are quite impressive.

Have a look at Shapeways.  They'll make your parts and also catalogue them for you so others could buy them and you make some pocket money!
