Hi all back on the site after a model helicopter phase, I've been building and flying vintage model aircraft for many years so I thought I'd try Helicopters so much going on at the same time and the repair costs have made me think this is not the way forward. My local farmers has put cows in his field which has ruined my local flying site so flying is reduced too.
I thought I would have another go at model boats ASRL and tugs prefered.
I will go to some model boat shows this year.

Flying model helicopters is equivalent to throwing up a hundred pound coins in the air and seeing how many you can catch!

So So true!

Very very true and when you have to sort pitch throttle curves it does start to get confusing.

I tried the Helli trick. It cost more to repair the first month than I had paid for it in the first place. I think they are designed with a strong will of their own to crash. At least if the boat sinks I have a good chance of getting back in one piece.(I hope) Mick B.

Welcome back to the true modelling hobby Tomo55!
I remember from my RAF training one of my instructors telling me that helicopters only work because they are so ugly they repulse the ground! He refused to teach us anything about helos especially how to marshal one!

lol. my rc halicopter is sat on top of my fridge, its been there for nearly three years since we moved in, i cant get the damn thing to stay in the air.

In my "theory of Flight" lessons, we were assured that helicopters dont fly properly at all, no lift etc................. they beat the surrounding air into submission.
-
yep, i remember that from my theory of flight classes. By the laws of physics technically a helicopter shouldn't fly.
my old lectured used to call them a demented washing machine.

Welcome back to the wet stuff :}
Best to get rid of idle thoughts immediately so ...
What model boat is carrying the biggest scale model helicopter?
.... and does it lift from the deck?
