hi all here is my conversion of a dickie tug winch to fully working winch using micro pile motor with a 298-1 reduction gearbox running it through a 10amp speed controller for the variable speed control.
-
That's a very nice little conversion and looks solid. How easy was it to do?

Hi it was fairly simple to do to strengthen it up I just glued in some brass tubing into the frame for the shaft to fit into and then fill the void in the bracket with resin then made up a simple brace using a bit of copper strip to attach motor to the frame .just need to tidy it up a little then attach the rope :-))
-
finally got the finishing of done and the rope wound on the drum 5mtr in all just one more to do and will have working winches fore and aft on my MMM eurogirl
-
Looks good - where would one find the motor and gearbox arrangement?
Thanks, mike

Purchased the micro motor from cornwall model boats I used the 298-1 but other ratios available
